As we age, our eyesight tends to deteriorate. This is partly due to the fact that pieces of the eye wear out over time, and age-related issues like cataracts develop. However, you can take serious and significant steps (outside of laser surgery!) to avoid macular degeneration and these steps simply involve taking a daily fish oil supplement.
Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids, which are critical to the development of our eyes while we are in the womb and as children. However, once our eyes are done developing, fatty acids still help keep the components of our eyes in good health and in good repair.
A daily dose of fish oil can go a long way toward helping keep your eyes young and undamaged, so if you are worried about your eyesight – and even if you already are experiencing some age-related sight issues – then you should start an omega 3 fish oil supplement today!

Before you head out to the beach, you probably do not think about smearing yourself with bait, but fish oil can play as big a role in skin cancer protection as your sunscreen. The key lies in the omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil.
These fatty acids are excellent when it comes to preventing inflammation, including the inflammation caused by UV rays from the sun that ultimately drives some skin cells “crazy” and causes them to multiply out of control, creating a skin cancer tumor. A daily dose of omega 3 fish oil can help your body combat this issue not only when it comes to your skin, but in the areas of the breast and prostate as well.
So technically, you still should not “oil up” when you go out in the sun, and you should use plenty of SPF protection. But do not forget your omega 3 fish oil supplement as well, since it could play just as big a role in keeping your skin safe from cancer.

As we age, one of the things that we have to come to terms with is that we simply cannot eat the way we used to. I hate that. As a result, I spent years and years not only exercising to extremes (first one extreme of all the time, then the other of giving up and not at all), but also constantly on the lookout for the key to speeding up my metabolism, training my body not to absorb fat or teaching my internal digestive system to pull out the “good stuff” and expel the bad. Sadly, all this really led to was an unhealthy exercise and weight-loss pattern that took me a long time to break free of.
While I have come to terms with the idea that I have to exercise every day and that I cannot get back the metabolism of my early teenage years, I still always keep an eye out for things that could help me get the most out of every workout. When I read recent studies indicating that omega 3 fatty acids, essential nutrients found in salmon oil, helped people lose weight in a healthier, more effective manner, I could not have been more excited.
After all, I’ve known for years that omega 3 fatty acids were essential to heart health and memory function, and usually I take a daily dose each morning in the form of a salmon oil supplement. However, I have to admit, like most adults I’m not the best at remembering my daily vitamins – and I’m sure not getting everything I need without them! Somehow, knowing that omega 3s were also helping me get better results from my exercise regimen gave me the push I needed to really start remembering these important daily needs.
Now, every time I take that fish oil capsule, I not only pat myself on the back for giving myself a healthier cardiovascular system and stronger, more accurate memory, but I also get an extra spring and pep in my step on my way to the gym, knowing that I have given my body a boost toward a healthier lifestyle.
