Fish Oil Fast Fact #199: When Oil is Good for Acne…

If you have skin that is prone to acne or other chronic breakouts, probably the last thing that you think of doing to make it better is increasing your oil consumption. After all, you probably are thinking, you do not need more oil gunking up your pores and irritating your face – you need less! However, while you probably do not need to invest in skincare products that are high in oil content, a certain type of oil could hold the key to the end of your skin condition.

Omega 3 rich fish oil could be the answer to acne and many other skin irritation and conditions. This is because omega 3 fatty acids, which are essential nutrients that your body cannot live without, are anti-inflammatory agents. This means that they reduce irritation throughout your body, which can contribute to resistance to developing diabetes, a stronger immune system and a hardier heart.

However, it also can help your skin and your infected pores resist further infection, resulting in fewer breakouts. So if you have sensitive skin, keep it smooth and clear with omega 3 fish oil.
