Fish Oil Fast Fact #332: Eating Healthy with Fish Oil

Many people think that they can get plenty of omega 3 fatty acids in their diet without having to add a daily supplement of fish oil to their routine. They believe that simply eating plenty of salmon, handfuls of flax seeds and the occasional other type of fatty fish will keep them “full up” on omega 3s.

However, this is simply untrue. Not only are flax seeds and most “omega 3 enriched” foods full of omega 3s that your body cannot use, but in order to get all of your omega 3s from salmon you would have to eat more than two pounds of that fish a day! That’s a lot of salmon – even for a bear!

Omega 3 salmon oil supplements resolve this issue by concentrating the effective, healthy omega 3 fatty acid molecules into one or two daily doses, enabling you to essentially maintain a classically healthy diet and still get the omega 3 fatty acids from fish oil that you need.
