Fish Oil Fast Fact 418: What Body Builders and Salmon Have in Common

Next time you go fishing, if you catch a nice, big, pink salmon take a good look at it. While you might not immediately think of those buff hard-bodies in bodybuilding competitions, that thrashing fish has more in common with bodybuilders than you might expect – and not just that both could probably break your line if they tried!

Bodybuilding relies heavily on the body’s ability to gain and maintain muscle. As a result, bodybuilders work hard to optimize every workout. One of the best ways to do this is to take a daily dose of salmon oil. Salmon oil is full of omega 3 fatty acids, which are not only anti-inflammatory agents (think: less soreness the next day), but have also been shown in studies to actually maximize the effects of a workout so that you get more weight loss or muscle gain -depending on what you are working toward – than you would without the supplement.

If you want to get a rockin’ bod, then you’re going to definitely have to put in some work. But get the most “bang for your buck” by adding in omega 3 fish oil to the mix.
